In the Creole language, ‘Avoka’ can be either a noun, meaning ‘an advocate’, or a verb, meaning ‘to advocate for.’

Our mission and identity centers around helping our clients advocate for themselves and their goals while supporting them on their journey.

My mom was an entrepreneur and business owner.

As a kid, I didn’t appreciate the struggle, the hard work, and the commitment that it took to make her businesses successful.

I do now.

I also now appreciate the lessons that her journey (and our family’s journey) taught me. That every business is a “relationship business”. That you sometimes have to get up at 4am and go to bed after midnight to pay for your kid’s education. That you never let someone else tell you that you don’t belong there.

After almost 30 years helping large companies achieve transformational change and being a corporate officer is a fast-growing small business, I came back to my roots.

I founded The Avoka Group to help small business leaders like my mom launch, grow, and transform their businesses to achieve their vision and goals. Not just for themselves, but for their families and for their communities.
